Grateful for embracing simplicity, it allows me to gradually purge from my life those commitments, activities, and people that do not benefit me in some (positive) way. The extra time I consequently gain can seem like vast, empty stretches of wasted potential. But as I learned to slow down (since the early 2008), I know that eliminating unnecessary rapidity from my experiences allows me to fill that time in a constructive, fulfilling, and agreeable way. I can relish my morning rituals, linger over quality time with loved ones, immerse myself wholeheartedly in what I have to do, and take advantage of opportunities to nurture myself every single day.
