grateful…

for allowing my heart to ache some, it comes and goes occasionally.

for taking a rest when needed,
for reading a good book,
for clouds dancing…

for mental stamina,
for not attaching,
for timing of the universe.

And realizing that if the world ends tomorrow, I’ve had a good life.

Grateful for awareness and consciousness.

Grateful for embracing simplicity, it allows me to gradually purge from my life those commitments, activities, and people that do not benefit me in some (positive) way. The extra time I consequently gain can seem like vast, empty stretches of wasted potential. But as I learned to slow down (since the early 2008), I know that eliminating unnecessary rapidity from my experiences allows me to fill that time in a constructive, fulfilling, and agreeable way. I can relish my morning rituals, linger over quality time with loved ones, immerse myself wholeheartedly in what I have to do, and take advantage of opportunities to nurture myself every single day.

So grateful to wake up again today. To the softness of the grey, gloomy morning. To the gentle breeze, to the energetic sound of my plants. I am truly grateful for the gifts of life. I am grateful for the daily reminder that this life is not centered around my ego. I am grateful to realize that “rights” and “wrongs” are just a figment of my imagination. That it’s not my place to evaluate what’s “good” and what’s “bad”. I am grateful to have some people I can call friends, relating to each other with love, compassion, with deep respect and without any form of validation.

Today, I am grateful, I am mindful.

Today, I am only human. I make mistakes, I take and I expect some. I measure, judge, I waste this precious time, sometimes. I am human.

Today, I am grateful for I know it all teaches me to be a better person. I remain teachable. I remain humble and I keep my heart open for all that is yet to come.

I am so grateful to be able to share these thoughts in this space.

Grateful today for simple pleasures – a good mug of coffee, a great meditation sessiom, houseplants, embracing imperfection and getting some work done.🙏🏻

Now is just what’s happening because it is the only reality.

Zen zumai (zen way of living) upright, absorbed precisely into reality as it is, really creates my every step in life.

Right here; right now; this breath; this heartbeat. Life is lived exactly as we find it.

I can’t imagine living any other way.
